Gemini is one of the 12 zodiac constellations and was one of the original 48 constellations listed by 2nd century A.D. astronomer Ptolemy. Its name is the Latin word for "twins" and is associated with Castor and Pollux from Greek mythology. Its symbol is ♊. Today, Gemini remains one of the 88 modern constellations.
