Idol☆Teacher (アイドル☆ティーチャー ) is the 29th episode of Aikatsu! TV anime series and the 29th episode of its "1st Season" (
Synopsis[]
As Ichigo, Aoi and Ran try to figure out how they can catch up to Mizuki they meet a first year student named Akane Mimori. Akane admires Aoi greatly and Orihime decides to assign the girls teacher roles in order to help them learn how to reach those who admire them.
Summary[]
The trio sit outside while discussing the recent passing of the Fresh Girls Cup and how they were all able to make it to the semi-finals. In knowing they still have a long distance, they are sidetracked after Naoto asks them why they began to space out. They explain the situation and mentions that some girls had requested their presence in the school.
As the girls walk down the hallway they discus being second years now. They are unaware of a strange girl observing them from a corner nearby until Aoi happens to spot her. She pays her no mind as the girl spots a leaf in her hair, and she tries to get her attention- only to hide when Aoi sees her again. She makes an attempt to grab the leaf, but Aoi turns just in time to find her nearby and question her. The girl, Akane, mentions the leaf and Ran pulls it out. Before she runs off she shyly introduces herself. Before the girls can think much of the encounter, Johnny appears with news; however he refuses to say anything until they get to the Headmistress' office.
There, Orihime informs the girls that they will become teachers for the underclassmen and explains how not only will this be good experience for the students, but the girls as well. She also points out how it will entirely be up to them regarding what or how they teach. They take off and she brings up how inspiring the girls are, even if none of them has what it takes to surpass Mizuki. They have all matured since they started and she believes Aoi may get the most experience from this since she's good at knowledgeable things.
While having lunch Ichigo is unable to panic over the request while Ran points out how much they have learned since coming. Ichigo goes on to picture herself as a teacher, which goes well until she trips over her heel and hits her head on the desk. Anxiously Ichigo gets up and tries to get advice from someone; with the trio unaware that they were being watched.
Back in the dorm, Ichigo expresses concern because none of them have any sort of idea. Ran suggests that they simply ask the first years what they would like to learn, and they go to ask Sakura for opinions- although she has nothing in mind. She explains that this is because the trio manage to inspire her to seek improvement and continue to do her best, and the trio try to find someone who could embody a "typical first-year" student when they remember Akane from earlier. They apologize for bothering her and explain what they will be doing before Aoi asks if there is anything she and her friends would like to learn from them. Akane is excited just knowing this, but she doesn't know anything about the world of Idols yet, so learning anything would be fine.
The girls return to the dormitory where Aoi comments that they are left with no answers. She has collected tons of Idol information over the years, but now that she's become one she realizes there is actually a difference between theory and practice. She feels that she may be able to teach the girls this, which causes Ichigo and Ran to become inspired as they point out that they can also share personal experiences with the other students.
In thought, Ichigo starts to go over the items she uses during auditions and Aoi happens to spot the rice scoop. Ichigo claims that it is highly important and she considers it to be her personal lucky charm, so Aoi asks Ran about her own plans at teaching. Ran brings up that she will just let the students know that they can ask her any sort of question and go from there, and the trio is convinced this will work since she has had twice as much experience as them. It's then Ichigo claims that Ran is much nicer then she looks; only to offend Ran until she clarifies that she didn't mean any harm. She recalls how difficult it was to originally approach Ran, despite clinging to her anyway, and now she has learned that she is much different from that. It's then Aoi decides that she will go on to speak about the work she has done as an Actor, and go over her experience and feelings using the life log she has been working on. Ichigo tries to sneak a peak inside of it but Aoi refuses.
Their first day as teachers soon approaches. Ichigo is very nervous out of fear she will mess up and be mocked, and they watch as Ran heads into the classroom first for her turn and the girls wildly start to cheer for her. She explains her plans of having them ask her anything, but this ends up being difficult since there are too many students who all have a question. She tiredly exits the room after her turn ends, and she remains silent before sending Ichigo inside, clearly worn out.
Ichigo walks inside with her rice scoop in hand, which confuses many girls. She winds up tripping, just as she feared, but she is able to catch herself and everyone cheers for her, causing her to exit the room in a lively mood. The girls are surprised to learn that she didn't actually do any teaching though- she just sang for everyone since they asked her so kindly.
Neither girl is surprised by the turn of events and Aoi steps into the room for her turn. She is very serious, but the girls find her glasses she chose to be cute, temporarily distracting her until she is able to launch into an uplifting speech. She brings how important an idols appearance can be during an Audition, and while she chats with the students, Orihime and Johnny are watching from the office.
Once Aoi's turn ends, she reunites with Ichigo and Ran. She mentions that everyone had paid her attention and once she finished, many of the girls said they wished to become idols just like her. In this time the girls realize that although they were down to have lost to Mizuki, they know they cant waste time moping over it. The trio are surprised when Orihime and Johnny suddenly arrive with a special present for them: a set of Spring based coords, followed by Orihime telling them to go and put on a great performance. They change into their given coords and perform "Idol Activity!".
After the concert, the girls seem to be feeling a lot better. They hear someone knock on the door and Akane comes in to compliment them, as well as thanking them for teaching her and the others so much, bursting into tears while explaining her doubts over whether or not she could become an Idol. But once she heard their lessons and watched them perform, she lost her lingering concerns and has become very inspired, deciding to call Aoi her Teacher, even if she does not have anything more to teach her.
Touched by such gesture, Aoi points out that after today they will probably have a lot more students come by to learn from them. So it will be up to them to make sure that they always do their best.
