Two Dreamers (2人のドリーマー ) is the 107th episode of Aikatsu! TV anime series and the 6th episode of its "3rd Season" (
Story[]
Aoi Kiriya once said, "In an idol's time there will a decisive performance that will allow the idol to step up." After hearing these words and receiving her first requested solo performance, Akari sets out to try to obtain her first Premium Rare Dress from Dreamy Crown's mysterious top designer.
Summary[]
Aoi is about to start a discussion about the decisive Concert; which is a very special time for idols where failure can have big effects. She reviews Mizuki's career and how she gained her boost in popularity during a live that occurred three years ago at the Star Rise Stadium, then she asks if they know who attended the performance. Akari raises her hand and mentions Ichigo, earning a compliment from Aoi, who mentions that Ichigo had a few decisive performances, like when she won against WM in the Twinkle Star Cup, earning her the next step she was aiming for. As an idol a decisive performance can be totally random, which is why they must work hard on their Aikatsu every day because they never know when they will be approached by one.
Afterwards, Akari, Sumire, and Hinaki walk down the hall while they discuss their feelings about the discussion. But Akari gets a message from Orihime regarding a solo gig someone requested her for and excitedly Akari heads to the office, being told that it is a concert; the first of which to ask for her officially. Akari admits to being very surprised, then looks over the paper Orihime hands to her detailing the concert to learn it's being held in a shopping mall to attract customers for the several sales going on that day.
Later on the girls go have a break in the Cafeteria. Hinaki mentions that in the past few years, performances at shopping malls have gained more prestige, and if Akari was to gain enough attention she may even be gifted with the chance to make a television appearance the following day. Before she starts to eat, Akari wonders if this is a Decisive Performance that Aoi mentioned earlier; and when Sumire and Hinaki voice their opinion she decides she will need to come up with something big to make sure all goes well.
Back in the dorms, Sumire helps Akari stretch when Akari comes to decision that she can keep her usual routines- but she must increase them. Observing her Ichigo poster they determine she might need to obain a Premium coord to wear and when asked about the brand, Akari confesses she has already dreamed of using Angely Sugar; but for the Halloween event she was more into the Dreamy Crown coord she chose to wear, so she feels more attachment towards it.
As she isn't sure how to get a Premium just yet they return to the cafeteria for tea with Hinaki to ask for some help. She brings up that Dreamy Crown is still really new, so there hasn't been any announcements of a Premium yet, but there is a rumor going around saying that one is in the makings. Despite this, Akari knows that it won't be an easy task to receive it because the Top Designer must approve of her first. Besides the designers name Sena Tsubasa, nobody really knows anything about them. Sumire tries looking up information but all they discover is that they used to previously work under Angely Sugar. Hinaki goes on to mention that if Akari was to somehow gain Sena's approval; she could gain a lot of popularity from this due to their mysterious nature, but first they need to find them. She suggests that Akari ask Orihime to set up an appointment with Sena.
The next day, Akari mentions that Orihime has been doing what she can but she has yet to hear anything. From what she was able to find, Hinaki thinks the Designer may be hard at work focusing on the Premium Dress at the time, leading Akari to decide that because she has little time before her concert she will have to go look for Sena herself. Both Sumire and Hinaki would like to attend and help out, but they have their own lessons and off-set film work to handle. They wish Akari luck and she takes off.
Boarding a train, Akari thinks about what Ichigo went through in order to meet Angely Sugar's top designer and she can't help but wonder what trials she may have to overcome for hers. She exits the train upon arrival and makes her way through the forest observing the map she made earlier, but she is let-down upon discovering there isn't a big cliff or mountain for her to climb. After a moment she spots a lake nearby and several feet away is a single building, which she pauses to admire before she continues on her way.
Eventually she reaches the porch of the building and sees the Dreamy Crown logo hanging from a sign, but seeing no signs of life inside she attempts to peek through the window nearby. She sees an office but not wanting to be nosy she sits down in hopes the designer will show up, then she begins wondering what type of person Sena is. As she begins drifting off to sleep she hopes they are a lovely woman she can befriend- only to be awoken by a boy her age carrying groceries. Akari greets him and introduces herself, then she asks if he knows Sena and when they will be returning. He estimates "five seconds", causing her confusion as he steps inside, and she is shocked upon realizing he is Sena.
He brings her inside and offers her some tea and Akari apologizes for stopping by so randomly like this. She goes on to explain why she arrived after he mentions seeing her Halloween performance, and she asks if she can wear the Premium Dress for her upcoming mall performance. She really loves Dream Crown for being a kawaii, but proper styled brand and wants to help spread word of it because it's so new. Unfortunately his response causes concern, and he approaches a white cloth hiding the Premium Dress he has been designing, and he mentions how decisive a Designers first Premium is. This is because it will have a huge effect on their reputation, and only those who can complete a dress they can be proud of can truly call themselves a top designer.
He reveals it to Akari after stating it isn't ready yet, and she is amazed by its elegance. He feels as though something is missing, and he shows her the tiara accessory he's been working on to compliment it. He also plans to add some red ribbon as an accent on the dress to help pull everything together, but he's missing the proper dye needed for the exact color. Dyes come from plants, and he has yet to find the proper red he's looking for, although he does have an idea on how to obtain it, and he shows Akari a picture of some fresh, vibrant berries. However, he wants to finish the tiara first before he even tries to go out to pick them, so the coord will not be finished for at least for a month, maybe two. Akari is very disappointed by this because she only has three days before her solo, but he claims it's impossible and suggests she uses another brand. Akari insists on Dreamy Crown though, and she offers to acquire the berries herself since this performance will be important.
While Sena seems to appreciate the gesture he tells her the berries can be hard to reach -if she even finds them- but Akari refuses to listen to reason. She asks that he let her wear the Premium if she's able to return in time and obtain them, and eager to get started she takes off again. She walks along another path and begins to realize how both she and Sena have reached their decisive battles as she comes to a brittle, wooden bridge. Slowly Akari crosses it, then goes up a well-shaded hill until she hears a strange sound, making her stop to observe her surroundings. When a bush nearby begins shaking she runs away until eventually reaching a cliff, one she excitedly begins climbing upon realizing the berries are nearby.
Later in the day Akari returns with a huge amount of the berries, surprising Sena as he takes them and boils them to help the color seep out. Akari wishes him luck and patiently waits for him to finish- but upon doing so he deems it unusable, because the color isn't what he had in mind. He wonders if the sunlight could have altered the hue any and Akari offers to bring back more for him, much to his concern, but she just tells him to continue working on the tiara.
Akari travels down the same path and she finds another patch of the berries and quickly plucks them. When this isn't right either she sets out again, and this time the color is perfect. As Sena prepares the dye and ribbon, Akari asks why he came up with the name Dreamy Crown. As he worked under Asuka as a disciple, he adored her outfits and her skill and care put into them, and he would imagine a crown filled with his many dreams he wished to someday achieve. Going with the crown, he wanted to make a brand befitting of its regal image because he's always had an interest in clothing since he was younger. He would try to make his own items while working for Asuka, and while it was a lot of hard work he was very happy, and eventually she suggests he make his own brand, showing nothing but support. He reminds Akari that a card is an idols life, and as a designer he is the one creating this life for the idols; so he cannot afford to make any compromises and has to give it everything he has.
Eventually the coord is entirely finished and Akari fawns over its beauty. He changes the dress into a full coord set for her and hands over the cards. Akari thanks him and promises to be as decisive as she can before running off to the Shopping Mall for her performance. She changes and appears on stage to perform "Du-Du-Wa DO IT!!".
Akari runs out to greet Sena and asks him how she did. He compliments her, but is surprised to find Asuka nearby, who mentions coming to see how his Premium Dress turned out. She manages to touch him with her words and he is glad she approves of his efforts and she takes off after complimenting Akari. Akari and Sena bond over their goals to become the top idol and designer, and then Sena leaves.
