Soleil is challenged by WM to a duel and though they accept, it's been two years since they last stood on stage together as the sunny unit. With different schedules getting in the way, will Ichigo, Aoi, and Ran be able to work something out in order to go against Mizuki and Mikuru?
Mikuru and Mizuki watch an interview that they were part of earlier on one day at WM's base. They discuss how their popularity is lately, as well as Mizuki's goal that she mentioned to Mikuru sometime back.
At Starlight Academy, Ichigo, Aoi, and Ran are also watching the interview. As it comes to an end they shut it off and begin to discuss WM's popularity also. While Ichigo is happy to see Mizuki again, Ran and Aoi remind her how serious they need to remain in order to even keep up with WM. Though Ichigo can't help but make a joke anyway. It's then Johnny arrives with some news.
Elsewhere, another conference is going on. Honoka tells everyone that they will be announcing WM's next performance and lets Mizuki and Mikuru take over. They explain that by competing with other idols, they feel it will help them raise themselves as idols, so they have decided to challenge other idol units and groups, and first up will be Soleil. But they haven't exactly asked them if they wanted to do it yet.
This surprises the girls as they watch this from the cafeteria area. It also surprises everyone in the press room and they ask why Mizuki chose them. Mizuki explains that it's simply because of everyone's reactions. Then the conference ends and the girls leave.
In the car, Honoka mentions that now all they have to do is see if they accept the challenge. Mizuki is sure that they will though, and asks Mikuru what she thought about the decision and how everyone reacted. Mikuru is excited to see Soleil perform and wonders if this has to do with Mizuki's dream to surpass Masquerade. She agrees, but she also has another reason for it. She wishes to fill the entirety of Japan with idols by encouraging idoling, even saying that those who may not like idols may come to see the performances anyway.
At Starlight Academy, the girls tell Orihime that they plan on accepting WM's challenge. She is all for it and understands why they accepted this, because it may very well be a once in a lifetime chance. So after discussion the girls leave the office, mentioning that it's been a pretty long while since they performed together as Soleil. Ichigo suggests they should have a lesson, but after she is reminded that she has a meeting, she asks if they can do it tomorrow instead. But this isn't any good either, since Aoi has to film for a drama and Ran has a Spicy Ageha photoshoot herself. Aoi also reminds Ichigo of her variety shows and other activities that she has to attend to and expresses concern that they may not even get a real chance to practice. She comments that two years ago they had a lot of open time to use for practicing but now they're busier and have a lot more to deal with as idols. But since Soleil is special to them, they need to work really hard to make sure they do their best, if not better. It's then Ran wonders if right now they even stand a chance against WM, and Aoi seems to wonder the same thing.
Ichigo leaves the school to go for a walk when she is approached by Otome, who happens to have heard what happened. She expresses her excitement and they are also approached by Akari and Yuu, who are allowed to be Otome's managers for the day since they both passed the audition for it earlier. This causes Ichigo to remember when she did the same thing back when she entered the school two years back. With that said, Akari and Yuu chase after Otome, who is leading them to the fountain nearby.
That night, Ichigo brings up the manager thing from before with an idea. She expresses the idea of the trio being each others manager and explains that she already asked Orihime to reorganize their schedules so that they could have time to practice and train. Ran and Aoi don't totally understand her idea, but Ichigo tells them to just try it out anyway, so they agree since she seems so sure of herself.
The next day, Orihime is discussing Ichigo's idea with Johnny. He claims they wont have time to practice even if they are with each other all of the time and he asks what the point will be in doing this. Orihime herself doesn't know, but she thinks they should just follow Ichigo's intuition on it.
At the photoshoot location, Ran is busy having her photos taken as Ichigo and Aoi watch. In back, Ran goes over her coord choices with the top designer, Anna, and she is approached by a girl who asks for some advice. The girl shows Ran what she picked, and Ran assures her that it's a good set and she likes it, asking the girl if she put it together herself. She then asks the girl if they can continue it over a snack, after the man nearby announces that refreshments have been set up for everyone. Aoi and Ichigo continue to watch this while making comments on how much Ran seems to do there and helps out.
At the TV station, Aoi is busy recording her drama. This time, Ichigo and Ran are watching this, but suddenly Aoi asks if they can do a retake of that scene. The director doesnt see any problems though and mentions that he was fine with how it went, but Aoi feels like she didn't capture the spirit of the police chief and feels that she could have. The director then agrees to it, seeing how passionate Aoi is. Ichigo and Ran comment on how much of a pro Aoi seems to be when working on the drama.
Then, at their next location Ichigo is busy taking place on a game show. She begins to hop from the platforms and just as she seems to make it, she accidentally slips and falls into the water. As the Director tells them to stop, he apologizes to Ichigo for how long they took. But she claims that it's okay because she had a lot of fun anyway and didn't even really notice. She is then approached by someone, who tells her that they are recording a song now and she goes to leave, only to be reminded that she still needs to change. Ran and Aoi watch this while discussing how Ichigo hasn't changed at all.
The following morning, Ran is met outside with Ichigo and Aoi. They discuss how much fun they had while leaving the dormitory, mentioning that even though things feel the same, they have matured a great deal. They then share some words with each other before laughing, then recalling a memory from the past. Ichigo then asks what Soleil will be like now that they have matured since the last time they performed as that unit, then share a cheer before they start their morning run.
Later on, they attend a press conference to announce that they will be accepting the challenge from WM and a man asks them how they feel knowing that they haven't been Soleil in so long. The girls claim to be fine though because they have matured lot and they will give it their all, whether they lose or not.
As this goes on, Mizuki and Mikuru watch the broadcast from their office and discuss the show. Mizuki then begins to think about Ichigo while wondering how much she will be showing her now.
As the big day draws closer, everyone around Japan begins preparing by selling merchandise and putting up posters and fliers for the event. The girls also use their time to keep working and training and soon the big day comes.
In back, Ichigo, Aoi, and Ran share some words before cheering together. They may be nervous now but all they can do is give it their all and show everyone how great they can be. They run to the back and change into their Soleil unit coord. They appear on stage and begin to sing "Diamond Happy".
Everyone cheers for the girls while Johnny calls it their best performance as Soleil. At one point, Orihime mentions that Ichigo miss-stepped at one point, but Aoi and Ran were able to cover for her and make it work to their advantage.
Also watching are Mizuki and Mikuru. Mikuru comments on how cool the performance was as Mizuki simply smiles with approval.
