Choco and Solution☆Choco-Pop Detectives (ちょこっと解決☆チョコポップ探偵 Chokotto Kaiketsu☆Choko-Poppu Tantei) is the 59th episode of the Aikatsu! TV Anime series and the nineth episode of the 2nd season 2nd Season (２年目 2-nen me, lit. Second Year). The episode aired on November 28, 2013
Aoi is in the middle of performing scene two hundred ten for the Extremely Naughty Police Chief movie. She is surprised to find Headmistress Orihime, who has come to tell her about a meeting the nearby people wish to have with the both of them. She want Aoi to make a brand new TV drama with them!
That night Aoi informs Ichigo and Ran what happened and brings up the auditions for it. She explains that it's being made to show-off a brand new introducing chocolate while showing them the giant box set they gave her for them. The producers were hoping to release a special drama at the same time they will hit the market. As she continues discussing it with Ran, Aoi opens one of the boxes and has Ichigo try it. Who claims that hearing Aoi is behind the drama includes all sorts of hype. So it would make sense that they would want it done with an idol that has been in so many of them and has gone on to make them very popular.
Ran begins to ask her what kind of drama she wishes to make, so Aoi thinks back to the meeting. The eccentric producer is very excited after she tells them her idea of a mystery drama where the girl detective gets an idea whenever she eats the candy. He is very eager and quick to accept the idea, and after she finishes her story to Ran and Ichigo they both belief the idea is cute too. Aoi then suggests that the three of them enter the auditions coming up and when Ichigo quickly agrees, Ran wonders if it's just for the candy. Ichigo instantly agrees, but then goes on to claim that she also wants to do it because it was thought up by Aoi.
Come the day of the auditions, Aoi, Ran, and Ichigo are trying to determine what the audition will be like. Aoi claims she doesn't know the specifics reguarding it either and it's revealed that Sakura, Otome, and Yurika have also showed up to take part in this too. But right after, it's revealed that Seira and Ki were also invited to attend the auditions. As Seira and Ki begin to argue with her catchphrase, Ki fangirls over everyone's behavior.
The auditions soon come up and the eight girls head onto the set to find themselves not very impressed by the subdued set. Each set of girls then goves over the auditions but after they finish, they complain that it wasn't as cute and fun as they hoped. Ran asks Aoi if this was what she had in mind and Otome is able to help her think of what she was planning. But before they can go more into detail the producer comes in and claims to have heard everything. He agrees that everything they said and he explains it had been because of the gritty, old timers above him. They didn't understand her true ideals at all and he asks her to tell them it one more time.
Along with the other girls, Aoi makes a board to explain everything. First they start by saying the chocolate used shouldn't be bars, but the brand new Aikatsu chocolate balls. As Ichigo incidentally helps her demonstrate what she's been trying to tell them, Aoi points out that she had said this during their first meeting and goes on to ask Ki what she thinks would be a good set. Ki seems surprised at first, but she quickly gets an idea: a cute room with chocolate and candy set into th walls. They also want the man working from the auditions to be a cute, cuddly bear instead.
Seira also points out that the detective needs a cute catchphrase. The producer decides to leave it to the girls and they all change into their detective outfits, half getting blue and half getting pink. The girls then partner up so that there is one blue head detective and a pink assistant.
With that the auditions begin, the producer tells the girls to do their best and to ad-lib a little as they see fit. All eight girls stand in the room when a call comes in for a new request. The client (Kaede in costume) comes in and explains that she needs help with finding her chocolate that was stolen from a legendary Belgian patissier en route to Japan. The eight girls agree and the producer compliments Seira's response.
Otome is about to run off in order to search but Sakura stops to remind her that it would be pointless without any clues, which Yurika agrees with. Kaede reveals that she does have one helpful hint, a map that shows where the stolen chocolate had been taken. But the girls can only see the map if they can find the three differences in the two images on her phone. Together all eight think it over, but none of can think of anything until Seira gives Ki one of the Aikatsu Chocolate balls. She points out the differences being the star points on the chef hat, the sun beam shapes, and the candles on top of the cake. With that the girls are given a map and they share a cheer before they begin to audition scene two.
At location, Kaede sweetens the deal by offering whoever finds the chocolate by giving them the very first bite of it. Everyone runs inside and they all split up to try to locate the chocolate. Otome and Sakura head upstairs, Ichigo and Aoi search a long hallway with Kaede following them, Ki searches for clues with Seira in another hallway, and Yurika chats with Ran regarding ideas in another.
As Aoi is searching she is forced to stop Ichigo from eating everything and just walking off. Kaede points something to them while Otome happens to find a trail of colorful boxes of candy, but they run into Seira and Ki until Sakura splits them up again. Then when a wall of sweet treats almost falls on Yurika, Ran is able to pull her out of dangers harm. Finally Ichigo, Aoi, and Kaede come to two doors and Ichigo observes them both to try to determine which one is the real one, Seira and Ki find a hidden door behind a big cake structure, Yurika and Ran find a button to show them the secret door, and Sakura and Otome fall into the room where everyone else is.
Kaede and everyone determine that the stolen chocolate has been hidden in a pink safe. She offers to do the rest and approaches it to try to find the code that will unlock it. Seira points out that something feels off, so she and Ichigo both each a piece of the Aikatsu chocolate balls. They reveal to the others that the chocolate was never stolen to begin with!
Nobody understands until they point out this isn't the thief's house, but the house of the patissier who made the chocolate. Kaede was the one who was planning on stealing the chocolate!
Just then she is able to open it and picks up the small box of chocolate. She reveals them to be correct and tries to escape while they give chase. But because Seira is able to reach her hand, she knocks it out of her grasp... and right into Ichigo's mouth!
After comments are made, Seira and Ichigo arrest Kaede. Then they share a cheer and the auditions are declared finished. A little while later, the producer announces who has passed the audition: Seira and Ki!
This surprises them but everyone congratulates them. The producer explains that the way they were able to combine and work together to ace the audition was very refreshing and new. Ichigo and Aoi really enjoyed how Seira did and she comments that she would like to enter another audition with Ichigo again sometime.
