Kī Saegusa from the Dream Academy loves the Ponpon Crepe. Just there, Seira Otoshiro suggests she should participate for the 15th gen Pon-Pon Crepe Campaign Girl but as Kī is a producer she isn't very convinced she could do something like this...
Ki is in the middle of enjoying a Pon Pon Crepe when she stops to inform Seira what the word "yummy" means, but she seems to know already since Ki says it a lot when she eats Pon Pon Crepes, so she looked it up. Ki then goes on to challenge Seira by asking her who the fourteenth generation Pon Pon Crepe image girl is, which she doesn't know. Kii reveals it to be Aoi and Seira compliments that Aoi fits the role perfectly. Ki agrees and claims she would pick her too if it was up to her, but she wonders who the next one will be and explains that the audition for the fifteenth Pon Pon Crepe Girl will be coming up.
This surprises Seira and she suggests that Ki tries it out. Kii is surprised, but she claims it wouldn't work out since she's a producer and not an idol. As she continues to eat, Seira claims she would think Ki would make it though...
In her dorm room, Aoi is observing her Pon Pon Crepe girl image poster while commenting on how she will have to retire it soon. Ichigo remembers it as if the audition was just yesterday while Ran remarks that it makes one reflect. Aoi goes on to describe how excited she had been when she got the role, just as Mizuki had sometime before her. Ran begins to wonder who the next will be and Aoi is very excited to find out!
Later on, Seira and Ki are walking through the halls. Seira is being given many compliments from the girls admiring her in the hallway as Ki is working on her next outfit theme. Seira happens to overhear the girls surrounding them compliment Ki's cuteness also, but one point out she isn't an idol though. But she finds herself agreeing with them and when Ki hears her, Seira explains why she said it.
In class, Seira is given homework to write a report on why she decided to become an idol. Seira begins, but she becomes distracted and wonders why Ki decided to become a producer. But before she can figure it out, she is asked to come to Tiara's office later on due to a lot of letters and flowers from fans. Before she leaves, Tiara compliments that Seira has a really good producer, which she agrees with again...
Meanwhile at Starlight Academy, Otome comes in to discuss the Pon Pon Crepe audition. They ask if she plans on auditioning but her schedule is too busy for it. Ichigo is also too busy and Ran admits that she isn't really into the crepes that much, and she also has a photo shoot that day. They ask Yurika, who admits she would like too but she has Black Mass that day, as in, a concert. Ran informs the others that Shion, Kaede, and Sakura can't do it either, which makes Aoi excited since this turns the event into a mystery.
Later that night, Seira and Ki are overlooking all of the letters and flowers she has recieved from her fans. Ki compliments Seira, who claims it's thanks to her help, then she remembers that the headmistress wanted her to give something to Ki and hands her a little box. Ki is excited to see that it's from her mother and when she opens it, it's revealed to be a set of bows!
Ki recognizes them by a number and picks it up, explaining that she used to name the accessories made until fifteen of them were made, then they begun numbering them. While Ki is happy and Seira thinks it's a nice gift, Ki is frustrated that her mother stayed up to make these when she has such a busy life style as it is and decides to send her an email to make sure she gets some sleep. But suddenly, Ki stops herself to realize her mother can't get any now and will need to wait a week. Seira asks her about where she lives and Ki explains that her mother is the only doctor on an island some distance from there, so she doesn't get to see her often.
But despite this, Ki isn't lonely at all because she knows that no matter what, she's always connected with her mother. She goes on to compliment how cute the accessory is and Seira takes a picture of her after she takes off her glasses.
Meanwhile back in their dorm, Aoi is trying to find out whatever she can in relation to the Pon Pon Crepe thing coming up while Ran attempts to help Ichigo stretch...
The next day, Ki has received the images of hair accessories that she figured Seira would look good in. As she shows Seira, she explains how she put in things like the shape of her head, the balance of her face, and the qualities of her hair and it brings back a bunch of images. Seira is happy, but she asks Ki why she doesn't go on and try the hair accessory her mother made for her.
They go into a make up room and Seira sits Ki down to brush her hair. She comments on how soft it feels and Ki explains that her mother made sure to take very good care of it. Ki admits that she is surprised that Seira is really good at tending to hair and Seira mentions that she used to braid Noel's hair all the time. After she finishes putting the accessories onto her pigtails, Seira comments on how her mother really knew what would look good on her, and Ki explains that she is a producer after all, so it would only make sense. Which catches her off guard...
Seira asks Ki about this since she told her earlier that she was a doctor and Ki explains that while she is a doctor, but to her she's a producer that produces cheerfulness for her. When Seira doesn't understand her, Ki explains that when she was little she had been too shy to play with the other kids, and because of that she barely had any friends. Besides that she was also jealous of how cute the other girls looked with all of their pins and ribbons they wore, but she didn't know what to do about it...
Because of this, Ki often wondered if maybe she was from a different planet. Everyone had been cute and full of energy, but she wasn't like that at all. The none day her mother asked her if she wanted her to tie up her hair. Ki questions why she is doing this, and she explains that by doing this, it will make her full of energy and smile a lot more. She claims it to be a special spell and attaches a pair of star shaped clips to her newly formed pigtails while chanting it. Ki overlooks her new hair style and instantly feels much happier, claiming she doesn't even feel like Ki anymore. But her mother says that she is still Ki, but now she's become the real Ki. The magical spell awoken the real Ki from deep within...
Since then her mother did her hair for her whenever she wasn't busy with work and Ki became very cheerful and happy. She would chat with her mother whenever she did her hair, which calmed her down a lot. And when she felt sad, her mother could always cheer her up by doing her hair and telling her that everything would be okay. So now, Ki says Ok-ok-okay because it's the magical phrase given to her by her mother.
This brings Seira to mention why her mother may have done what she did, by sending her that gift. She's probably worried about Ki since they haven't been together for a long time and she can't tie her hair anymore. This makes Ki realize that she may have been a little harsh at first...
In class, Johhny informs everyone that today is the deadline to sign up for the Pon Pon Crepe audition. So he suggests anyone still thinking of it to hurry up and make up their mind. He also has everyone give Aoi, the current Pon Pon Crepe girl a round of applause. After class, Aoi is becoming even more excited and Ichigo pretends to interview her by asking her what kind of girl Aoi thinks would be chosen. But before she can respond, Seira shows up for a surprise visit!
In the dorm, she explains that she came to ask the same question and she explains she got in by saying she came by to visit some friends. So she asks about the audition again and they assume she plans to enter, but she informs them that she doesn't intend to. But she still wants to learn more about it, such as the best way to win it and what sort of girl would pass the audition. Aoi points out that the most important thing as that the girl auditioning should really like Pon Pon crepes in a sincere manner.
With this in mind, Seira is inspired and runs back to Dream Academy, where she has Ki come to the data room later that night. Seira reveals a random data paper to her and says that this girl will be entering the Pon Pon Crepe auditions. Seira asks her to produce this mystery girl to help her with the auditions and Ki is quick to agree. She begins to get to work but explains that because she doesn't know the girl personally she can't say anything specific just yet, other then she has a 97% chance of passing the audition. She compliments the Pon Pon Crepe mention the girl included in her data, and Seira brings up the fact that the girl isn't good in front of others and isn't confident in her looks. But Ki promises to make her shine brighter then anyone else and decides to locate the perfect dress for her in the mean time. Seira decides she will use this time to sign the girl up.
Come the day of the audition, Ichigo, Aoi, and Ran are on their way to the location of the auditions. They are excited and they mention that she is to be giving a speech there.
Meanwhile, Ki has perfected a coord for the mystery girl and Seira compliments it. She tells Ki to get ready, then informs her that she was the one to sign her up into the auditions. Ki doesn't understand and Seira continues to explain that she's already talked to her teachers about this and mentions that with Ki producing Ki, she was guaranteed to win this.
However, she is forced to drag Ki part of the way because she doesn't think she can do it. Seira stops and tells her that she knows she can though, because of what she's learned from her mother and Ki claims her dream is to be a producer who can make any girl shine, like her mother. But Seira thinks she would become happy getting onto the stage too and pulls her the rest of the way there...
Ki is still concerned and overlooks her reflection in the mirror and unconvinced that she can do it, she makes a break for it. But at the door, Seira reveals she's turned the accessory her mother made into a coord piece for her and hands it to her while telling her to show her faraway mom how cute and cheerful she is. Which touches Ki as she explains she got a girl in the designer course to do it for her. Ki recalls how her mother complimented her, seeing her in the Dream Academy uniform and when she begins to cry, which surprises Ki until her mother explains she changed from the shy, withdrawn Ki into a very cute girl. Which makes her very happy...
For a moment Ki seems sad, but she perks right up and is inspired to show her mother just how cute she is. They go to the changing area and Ki removes her sunglasses after Seira tells her to just go and have fun. Ki puts the coord cards into place and she changes, appearing on stage. Aoi is very surprised to see her but she thinks she's very cute and watches as she sings and dances to "Calendar Girl" after being introduced to everyone.
Once the auditions end, Aoi runs in to reveal to Ichigo and Ran that Ki had been picked as the brand new Pon Pon Crepe image girl. They comment on how she was cutest there, while the headmistress at Dream Academy wishes Ki luck working as an idol and a producer from this point on. Ki seems surprised by this, but Seira is able to convince her that she can do it!
On the island where her mother is, one of the workers there is overlooking the Pon Pon Crepe image and she comments on how Ki has her mothers cuteness. Then they all share a laugh as the episode ends...
